Dr. Young completed his specialty training in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Florida, and he completed a Master of Science degree at the University of Florida. He is now a fulltime periodontist at Jacksonville Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Young has been involved with coordinating care for the underserved population in Jacksonville and was the recipient of the American Dental Association award related to his commitment to this cause. He is currently serving on the Board of the Jacksonville Dental Society as the President (term 2007-2011).

Dr. Young was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and he was raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Young attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies. Dr. Young’s interest in dentistry began at an early age, since both his father and grandfather are general dentists. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He completed his specialty training in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Florida, and he completed a Master of Science degree at the University of Florida.

Dr. Young is now a fulltime periodontist at Jacksonville Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Young upholds current licensure in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Conscious Sedation (State of Florida permit) in addition to Basic Life Support.

Dr. Young is involved with coordinating care for the underserved population in Jacksonville and was the recipient of the American Dental Association award related to his commitment to this cause. He is currently serving on the Board of the Jacksonville Dental Society as the President (term 2007-2011).

Dr. Young was inducted as a Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow in 2009, an international honorary society made up of ethical dentists who have made an outstanding contribution to the art and science of dentistry.

In addition, Dr. Young is on the editorial review board for Implant Practice US, a dental implant journal circulated to all US periodontists and oral surgeons. He has also served on the advisory board for North Florida Doctor, an exclusive publication for physicians and dentist in Northeast Florida.

Dr. Young is involved in a progressive periodontal, dental implant, and bone regeneration clinical practice. Dr. Young is specially trained in techniques involving minimally invasive computer guided dental implant surgery and minimally invasive tissue grafting techniques. Dr. Young has lectured to the general public, general dentists, and other surgeons on numerous current issues regarding dental implant reconstruction and periodontics.
